June 28 2023 is a sad day for the magazine industry as National Geographic now follows in the footsteps of many other print magazines that have been forced to eliminate newsstand starting 2024.

It had been a long and slow decline for print media, starting in the late 1990s when most media companies shifted their focus from traditional print publications to online content. With the majority of readers now consuming content online, print magazines have seen a decline in circulation and revenue.

But it's not just a matter of financial struggles. The shift to digital has also changed the way we consume media. With the constant stream of information available at our fingertips, readers have become accustomed to quick, bite-sized pieces of content.
While some magazines have managed to survive by transitioning to a digital-only format, it is clear that the future of print media is uncertain at best.
At MagtimeHK, we believe in the value of a physical, printed copy of a book or magazine.
At the end of the day, we root for the magazines we represent.
